Ken is enthusiastic about the job and is sure he'll get it. The girls refuse to make any bags until Mike agrees to pay them a bonus as they designed the bags in the first place. Mike worries that he'll lose the deal and agrees to pay the girls. Phyllis is furious to discover that Chalkie has had a letter from Craig. Deirdre pretends to see friend Carol, but really goes out with Mike. He takes her to an expensive restaurant. She realises Ken no longer notices her any more. After the meal she agrees to go back to Mike's flat. They kiss.
